Miller Systems Wins Award in Spring 2003 World Wide Web Health Awards Program

, July 31, 2003 - Miller Systems, one of Boston’s premier technology consulting firms specializing in web engineering and IT consulting, today announced its selection as a winner in the Spring 2003 World Wide Web Health Awards. Miller Systems was recognized for its work in developing the educational patient website FertilityNeighborhood.com. The World Wide Web Health Awards program recognizes the best health information Web sites for consumers and professionals.

The FertilityNeighborhood.com site received a Bronze Award for Patient Education Information in the Pharmacy/Drug Store category. Fertility Neighborhood is a leading destination for individuals seeking information and support for infertility. The site is managed by Priority Healthcare and its subsidiary, Freedom Drug, the nation’s number one pharmacy for infertility. As a national specialty pharmacy dealing in complex, chronic disease categories, patient education is vital to successful outcomes. The site represents a natural and important extension of the company’s educational mission with in-depth, yet easy- to-understand educational information about all clinical aspects of infertility--from its causes and diagnosis to the range of options available for its treatment. The site also covers the psychosocial aspects of the condition--offering advice and information on stress, mental health, marital relations, and patients' financial concerns.

“We were delighted to participate in the World Wide Web Health Awards Program and were honored to be selected as a winner,” said Seth Miller, President, CEO and Founder, Miller Systems, Inc. “Our winning entry was among nearly 300 entries judged by a panel of health information experts.”

Miller Systems managed the development and hosting of the site with an internal development team at Priority Healthcare. Specifically, Miller Systems worked with Priority to enhance the overall user experience for FertilityNeighborhood.com by collaborating on a fresh design approach, improving content management, augmenting email content creation tools, and enhancing website performance. The site utilizes a variety of innovative and industry- standard technologies including Microsoft’s .NET and SQL Server technology. Many of the site’s applications were designed specifically by Miller Systems, including a physician search tool and the site’s member management and broadcast e-mail capabilities, powered by Miller Systems’ award- winning dataDriver ePush.

The World Wide Web Health Awards program is coordinated by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for consumer health information programs and materials. The Center, which houses a large collection of public and private sector health resources, promotes the distribution of accurate, timely consumer health information materials to professionals and managers in the field.
