Miller Systems and SNHU Win Communicator Award of Distinction

Recognized by International Academy of the Visual Arts for Redesign of www.snhu.edu.

Miller Systems, one of Boston’s premier boutique user experience and technology consulting firms, today was announced as a winner of the 2012 Communicator Awards by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. Miller Systems and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) received a Communicator Award of Distinction for the redesign of SNHU’s primary website (www.snhu.edu). With thousands of entries received from across the US and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals.

“We are pleased to share this honor with SNHU, and to receive it from our peers in the interactive community,” said Seth Miller, Founder and CEO, Miller Systems. “This project was fun – but it was also a substantial challenge, requiring a great deal of effort from both Miller Systems and SNHU’s teams. The talented and hard-working individuals on both teams deserve this recognition for a job well done.”

The new SNHU web site recognized by this award represents a comprehensive re-organization, re-design, and re-development project, a highly collaborative effort between both organizations. Miller Systems led the overall project, defining strategic goals, developing new information architecture, personae, designing key user experience wireframes and specs, and finally, owning the technical development process. SNHU led the aesthetic and graphic design portion of the project. The result is a substantial improvement over the previous iteration of the site. A brand new, far more effective experience paradigm enables prospective students to self-identify with their life situation, quickly and easily propelling them to the educational offerings that are best for them.

Miller continued, “The site has been wildly successful since its launch; the results speak for themselves. It’s been really gratifying for both organizations.”

“The pool of entries we received for this year’s Communicator Awards serves as a true testament to the innovative ideas and capabilities of communications and marketing professionals around the world. Each year our entrants continue to amaze by reinventing the ways we communicate and market in an ever-changing industry” noted Linda Day, executive director of the IAVA. She added, “On behalf of the entire Academy, we congratulate this year’s Communicator Award Entrants and Winners for their passion and dedication. We are humbled to be given the opportunity to recognize such amazing work.”
