Acopia Networks and Custom Fitness Websites Recognized by WMA’s WebAwards Web Site Competition

, September 16, 2004 - Miller Systems, one of Boston’s premier technology consulting firms specializing in the design and development of elegant online user experiences, today announced that the Web Marketing Association, an organization devoted to setting high standards for Internet marketing and corporate website development, has named Acopia Networks and Custom Fitness’ websites as 2004 WebAward recipients. Developed by Miller Systems, both sites received a Standard of Excellence Award from the Web Marketing Association, recognizing them as some of the most effective websites on the Net today.

Miller Systems developed a new web presence for Acopia Networks, Inc., a developer of unique Adaptive Resource Networking products. Miller Systems worked with the Acopia Networks’ marketing team to help launch the company from stealth mode by creating a web presence that reflected the company’s updated brand identity and defined a new market opportunity. In addition, Acopia took advantage of Miller Systems powerful dataDriver Secure Portal tool for secure, affordable, third party access to proprietary content, files, and links. Similarly, Miller Systems developed a new web presence for Custom Fitness, an acclaimed Boston-based personal training service and center. Leveraging its award-winning approach to information architecture and design, Miller Systems completed a total overhaul of Custom Fitness’ corporate identity and the site’s visitor experience.

The WebAward competition format allows Web sites to compete head to head with other sites within their industry to win the Best of Industry awards. Entries also compete against a standard of excellence to win Outstanding Website and Standard of Excellence WebAwards.

More than 1,300 sites from 19 countries were adjudicated in 85 industry categories during this year's competition. Entries were judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, and use of technology.

The competition was judged by a team of independent Internet professionals representing a variety of relevant disciplines of Web site development. Judges included members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, creative directors, corporate marketing executives, content providers and webmasters.
