Publicly introduced in December 2001, Internet Photonics is an innovative early-stage company delivering next generation optical data transport products. With a highly competitive, noisy marketplace and competition comprised primarily of 800 pound gorillas including Cisco and Nortel, Miller Systems and Internet Photonics faced incredible pressure to design, develop and build an online presence that would firmly establish a brand and help to drive sales. Combined with tight company and product launch deadlines for the company's "coming out party," and the need to make frequently changing news and event content easy to update, Miller Systems boldly took on the opportunity.
Working closely with Internet Photonics' CEO, VP of Marketing, and other senior team members to clarify messaging and content, Miller Systems directed a thoughtful, innovative, and application-focused information architecture that provides contextually appropriate and value-centric information about products. Leveraging its domain expertise in the optical and data networking market, Miller Systems designed an all new look and feel for site, including animation to lead prospects to the application content. At the same time, Miller Systems implemented its highly acclaimed dataDriver Press Room solution, enabling Internet Photonics' staff to manage critical, frequently changing news and events content at lightning speed. Furthermore, providing Internet Photonics with an affordable alternative to hosting its new website in-house, Miller Systems assumed responsibility for managing the entire infrastructure as part of its highly available web hosting solution.
In the end, Miller Systems produced and delivered Internet Photonics' inventive new website on time, on target and on budget to coincide with company and product launch. With only two clicks into the new website, application-specific content speaks clearly to customers and prospects, helping Telco or Cable Operators to understand how, and with which product, their particular problem (e.g, Video On Demand, Networked Storage, etc.) can be solved. Using this approach, Miller Systems helped to differentiate Internet Photonics from the competition, and more importantly, has helped to drive application-specific sales.
